Dr Sophia Seltzer-Eade

Sophia is a Clinical Psychologist, trained in a number of evidence-based psychological approaches, with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forming a large part of her work. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings with a range of client groups across the lifespan.

Sophia has extensive experience working with children, young people and their families, and takes an empathic stance to improving individuals' psychological wellbeing and resilience. Sophia has worked in a number of schools providing training and consultation to staff in high pressured environments and has worked closely with staff teams to implement whole-school psychologically informed approaches. More recently, Sophia worked alongside her colleagues to develop the first NHS service in the UK for young people with gaming addiction. This role saw her providing specialist training to fellow professionals from the health and education sector.

Sophia developed a keen interest in early intervention and preventative approaches during her NHS work in schools and has continued this work with Positive since 2019. Sophia has facilitated training sessions to hundreds of staff from a wide range of schools and has worked closely with staff groups to apply and translate the psychological tools to their specific contexts. Sophia champions the 'teacher-first' approach and continues to work with her colleagues at Positive to develop the content for the educational programmes further.
